About Eurocraft

Eurocraft, Inc. is a custom furniture manufacturing company that creates high-end custom furniture for interior designers, architects, and their clients. Located in Chicago, IL, we serve customers throughout the Chicagoland area and nationwide.  When it comes to custom pieces no project is too big or too small and we love seeing your ideas brought to life.

Eurocraft, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Cornel Stef and Ovi Poenar.  Cornel grew up in eastern Europe as the son of a carpenter and a mattress maker and obtained his degree in art. Ovi also grew up in eastern Europe and is a master cabinetmaker with over 20 years of experience.  By melding the design skills Cornel learned in art school and the art of fine craftsmanship both Ovi and Cornel learned from their upbringing they quickly found a way to bring the perfect complement of style and function that making high end furniture requires. For over 20 years, Cornel and Ovi lead their teams with wealth of experience and expertise.

Although Eurocraft, Inc began as a partnership, after some consideration Ovi and Cornel decided to split into two separate entities.  However, even while operating as separate legal entities, Eurocraft and Eurocraft Millwork shared a work space and collaborated closely for 23 years. 

In 2016 Cornel made the decision to sell Eurocraft and the company was purchased by Nicole Kaleta.  Nicole has always had a passion for furniture and design.  This passion combined with her lifelong dream of owning a business made purchasing Eurocraft an easy decision.  Today, Nicole, with the support of her husband Robert, leads the same great team of craftsmen that Eurocraft’s customers have come to know and love. In 2020 Nicole also purchased Eurocraft Millwork from Ovi, making Eurocraft, Inc a single, full service, furniture company once again.  Ovi remains on staff and continues to help run Eurocraft on a daily basis.

Eurocraft remains a family owned and operated business and Nicole and Robert look forward to carrying Eurocraft’s tradition for quality into the future.
